Mark Dana our current President has been with Rotary for almost 14 years. He started with the Rockaway Rotary Club, a long established Wed. lunch club near home. About 4 years ago, when a lunch club no longer was compatible with his work schedule, he joined the Brooklyn Bridge Rotary.
Mark is most passionate about the Gift of Life program co founded by his good friend Robbie Donno. In 1975, Robbie's Manhasset Rotary Club arranged for heart surgery for Grace Angwaru from Uganda, to correct a congenital heart defect. This program has since blossomed into a dynamic WORLDWIDE movement, and this year, 2017, will reach the staggering number of THIRTY THOUSAND CHILDREN saved worldwide since Grace.
Mark brought Robbie to speak at the BBRC, and they have since done 3 surgeries, Kevens of Haiti, Anastasia from Russia, and most recently, Effe from Nigeria.
When he was first introduced to GOL he became a "Rotarian for Life".
Mark lives in Rockaway Queens with his beautiful wife Irene and his 2 daughter, Emily who is a Senior at F.I.T. and Claudia, 16, who is a Senior at Scholar's Academy High School in Rockaway. Both of his girls are deeply committed to the RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) program, which has signifigantly impacted both of thier lives.
Sandra Dowling, Principal Broker, with 25 years of experience overseeing operations. There is always someone available to answer your questions when you call the office. That is the personal touch you can expect and will get from this one-stop full service boutique firm.
